Havanna Dulce de Leche

Havanna is an iconic Argentine brand, widely celebrated as a national symbol of Argentina's culinary heritage. Founded in 1948 in the coastal city of Mar del Plata by Benjamín Sisterna, Demetrio Elíades, and Luis Sbaraglini, the company originally began as a small bakery specializing in alfajores—traditional sandwich cookies filled with dulce de leche. Over the decades, Havanna expanded its product range to include premium chocolates and its signature creamy dulce de leche, while also establishing an extensive network of franchise coffee shops across Latin America, Europe, and North America.

The primary manufacturing facilities remain located in Mar del Plata, Argentina, where the products are crafted according to long-standing traditional recipes. Despite several changes in corporate ownership over the years—including acquisition by the Exxel Group in 1998 and later the DyG Group (Inverlat) in 2003—the brand has maintained its strictly Argentine identity and production roots. Today, Havanna is a publicly traded company on the Buenos Aires Stock Exchange (BCBA: HAVA) and continues to be the leading exporter of Argentine confectionery to international markets.
