3-Stjernet Sønderjysk spegepølse

3-Stjernet is a prominent Danish food brand with a rich history dating back to 1950, when it was founded by butcher Aage Jensen as Aage Jensen Salamifabrik. The brand name '3-Stjernet' (meaning 3-Star) was officially registered in 1972 and was inspired by a dinner conversation involving a bottle of high-quality cognac. Today, the brand is widely recognized in Denmark for its sliced cold cuts, particularly its variety of salamis and spegepølse.

While the meat is sourced from within the European Union, as indicated on the packaging, the product itself is produced in Denmark, specifically at the company's modern production facilities in Horsens. This ensures the continuation of the traditional processing methods, such as cold smoking over juniper wood chips and long-term drying, which are hallmarks of the Sønderjysk variety.

Since 2007, 3-Stjernet has been part of the international food industry, following its acquisition by the Finnish food company Atria Group Plc. Today, the brand operates under Atria Danmark, consolidating its position as a market leader in the Danish charcuterie sector while benefiting from the resources of a major Scandinavian food conglomerate.
