Groundies is a prominent German footwear brand that has redefined modern walking through its 'TrueSense' barefoot technology. Founded in 2019 in Freiburg within the Black Forest region, the brand quickly established itself by blending ergonomic health benefits with high-street fashion aesthetics.

In July 2023, Groundies underwent a significant corporate shift when it was acquired by the WB D2C Group (Weltbild D2C Group) following a period of insolvency restructuring for its original parent company, EOD GmbH. This acquisition integrated Groundies into a larger portfolio focused on direct-to-consumer sustainability and lifestyle trends. Today, the shoes are designed in Germany and produced across a carefully selected European and global supply chain, with major manufacturing hubs in Portugal and Spain for leather and stitch-work, while certain modern performance models are produced in Vietnam.
