Bohempia is a sustainable fashion brand that specializes in eco-friendly barefoot shoes and hemp-based apparel. Founded in 2015 by Tomáš Rohal in Prague, the brand's name is a creative portmanteau of 'Bohemia' (the historical region of the Czech Republic) and 'hemp.' The company emerged from a successful Kickstarter campaign and has since grown into a leading advocate for industrial hemp in the textile industry.

The brand's production philosophy focuses on local European manufacturing to ensure high ethical standards and minimal environmental impact. Most of Bohempia's barefoot sneakers are handcrafted at the Eurofina factory in Drăgășani, Romania, a specialized facility known for its expertise in vulcanized sole construction and ISO-certified processes. Accessories and specific winter collections continue to be manufactured in the Czech Republic.

Bohempia is recognized as the first Czech brand to receive PETA-Approved Vegan certification, reflecting its commitment to animal-free production. The company remains privately held and is led by its original founder, maintaining its headquarters and a flagship studio in Prague.
