Staub cast iron pot

Staub's world-renowned cast iron pots, including the iconic Cocotte, are manufactured in Merville, France. Since its founding in 1974 by Francis Staub in the Alsace region, the brand has maintained its commitment to traditional French craftsmanship. Each piece is cast in a single-use sand mold and carries the 'Made in France' stamp on its base, ensuring authenticity and high-quality construction.

While the brand's headquarters was originally in Turckheim, Alsace, the production of cast iron was later consolidated in northern France to streamline manufacturing while preserving its heritage. It is important to note that while the signature cast iron range remains French-made, Staub's ceramic and stoneware collections are primarily produced in China under strict quality control standards.

In 2008, the brand was acquired by the German kitchenware specialist Zwilling J.A. Henckels. Despite this change in ownership, Staub continues to operate as an independent entity, focusing on its distinctive matte black enamel interiors and self-basting lid designs that have made it a favorite among Michelin-starred chefs and home cooks worldwide.
