GEFU is a prestigious German brand specializing in high-quality kitchen tools and accessories. Founded in 1943 by the Funke brothers in Eslohe, Sauerland, the company originally gained fame for its stainless steel potato peelers, graters, and the iconic 'Flotte Lotte' food mill. Over the decades, the brand has evolved from a local manufacturer into a global leader in innovative kitchen design, earning numerous accolades such as the 'Brand of the Century' and several iF Design Awards.

The company remains a family-owned, owner-operated business. Rudolf Schillheim, who began his career at the firm as an apprentice toolmaker in 1977, took over leadership in 2004 and became the sole proprietor in 2009. Today, GEFU continues to be headquartered in Eslohe, Germany, where its creative product development takes place. While a significant portion of its premium stainless steel range is manufactured in Germany, the company utilizes a global supply chain for its extensive portfolio of over 650 products, ensuring high standards of craftsmanship across all production sites.
