Calzedonia hosiery and swimwear

Calzedonia is a prominent Italian fashion brand that has become a global leader in the legwear and swimwear sectors. Founded in 1986 by Sandro Veronesi in Verona, Italy, the brand initially focused on hosiery, leveraging a vertically integrated business model that manages everything from design to retail. Over the decades, it expanded its product lines to include an extensive range of tights, leggings, socks, and seasonal beachwear, establishing a retail network of thousands of stores worldwide.

Unlike many global fashion retailers that outsource production, Calzedonia maintains significant control over its supply chain by owning and operating its own factories. These production facilities are strategically located in multiple countries, including Italy, Sri Lanka, Croatia, Bulgaria, Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Ethiopia. This ownership allowed the brand to maintain high quality and ethical standards while remaining competitively priced.

In December 2023, the parent company, formerly known as the Calzedonia Group, underwent a corporate rebranding to become Oniverse Holding S.p.A. This change reflects the group's diversification into other sectors, such as luxury yachts (Cantiere del Pardo) and wine (SignorVino), while continuing to manage its core fashion brands like Intimissimi and Tezenis. The Veronesi family remains the ultimate owner, with Sandro Veronesi serving as Chairman.
