Newton Johnson Albariño is a pioneering white wine hailing from the Hemel-en-Aarde Valley near Hermanus in the Western Cape of South Africa. The Newton Johnson family were the first to transplant this Spanish and Portuguese grape variety into the South African terroir, specifically in the granitic soils of the Upper Hemel-en-Aarde. The 2023 vintage is produced on-site at the family's gravity-flow cellar, reflecting the local maritime climate and mineral-rich earth.

The estate is a family-run enterprise established in the mid-1990s by Dave Johnson and his wife Felicity. Ownership remains strictly within the family, with their sons Bevan and Gordon now leading the operations. The brand is recognized for its artisanal approach, avoiding commercial additives and focusing on site-specific expressions. All production, from cultivation to bottling, takes place on the family estate in Walker Bay, ensuring complete oversight by the founding family.
