Grov Lössnus

Grov is one of the oldest and most traditional Swedish snus brands, originally registered in 1872 by W:m Hellgren & Co. The brand is renowned for its distinctive coarse grind, which is reflected in its name (Grov translates to 'coarse' or 'rough' in English). Originally produced in Stockholm, the manufacturing later moved to northern Sweden where the brand founded its core fan base before eventually becoming part of the Swedish Match portfolio.

In 2022, Swedish Match, the long-standing manufacturer of Grov, was acquired by the global tobacco giant Philip Morris International (PMI) in a deal valued at approximately $16 billion. As of 2026, the brand remains under the ultimate ownership of Philip Morris International, though it continues to be produced in Sweden at Swedish Match's specialized facilities, maintaining its historical recipe and production standards.
