Almhof is a prominent premium dairy brand with roots deeply embedded in the Alpine tradition. The brand was established in 1985 and draws its name from the German words 'Alm' (alpine meadow) and 'Hof' (farm), reflecting its focus on high-quality dairy products inspired by the Swiss and Austrian Alps. Originally a Dutch market leader, it has become a household name in the Netherlands for its creamy textures and first-class fruit ingredients.

In 2004, the brand was acquired by the German dairy giant Unternehmensgruppe Theo Müller (Müller Group). Following this acquisition, the primary production and headquarters for the brand moved to the village of Aretsried in Southern Germany, located in the Pre-Alps region. This location allows the brand to source high-quality milk from local mountain farms. While the majority of its yogurts and quarks are produced in Germany, specific specialty items, such as their chocolate mousse, are crafted in Belgium to leverage Belgian chocolate expertise. Today, Almhof remains a key premium pillar in Müller's international portfolio, specializing in indulgent yogurts, quarks, and chilled desserts.
