Pietra is the flagship amber beer produced by Brasserie Pietra, a landmark brewery in Corsica, France. Founded in 1996 by Armelle and Dominique Sialelli, the brand was born out of a desire to create a beer that reflected the unique terroir of Corsica. The defining characteristic of Pietra beer is the use of Corsican chestnut flour during the brewing process, which is integrated with a blend of malts to provide its distinctive amber hue, rich head, and subtle nutty flavor.
The production is deeply rooted in the island's culture and geography, with the brewery located in Furiani. Over nearly three decades, what began as a bold and risky venture in a region dominated by wine and anise-based spirits has grown into a major success. Today, the brand remains a family-operated company, with the founders' son, Hugo Sialelli, taking a leadership role in its continued expansion and management as of 2026. The company remains independent and privately held, standing as a primary symbol of Corsican craft industry and regional pride.
