Saipa automobile

Saipa (Société Anonyme Iranienne de Production Automobile) is Iran's second-largest automaker, following Iran Khodro. Established in 1965, the company originally operated as a joint venture with Citroën to assemble vehicles for the Iranian market. Over the decades, it evolved from an assembly plant for foreign models into a comprehensive industrial group that designs and manufactures its own range of vehicles.

While the company rose to fame by producing licensed versions of the Kia Pride and various Renault and Citroën models, it has increasingly focused on domestic platforms such as the Tiba, Saina, and Quik families. Manufacturing is concentrated in seven major sites across Iran, but the brand also maintains international assembly operations in countries like Syria, Venezuela, and Iraq. The brand is currently under the oversight of the Industrial Development and Renovation Organization of Iran (IDRO), maintaining a deep connection to the state's industrial policy.
