Red Chili climbing shoes

Red Chili is a prominent brand in the rock climbing world, founded in 1996 by German climbing legend Stefan Glowacz and his partner Uwe Hofstädter. The brand's origin is tied to the founders' personal quest for more comfortable and high-performing climbing shoes following a painful ascent of El Capitan. Named after the rock band Red Hot Chili Peppers, the brand quickly established itself as a leader in international climbing footwear.

In 2017, Red Chili merged with the renowned German mountain sports company EDELRID. Since 2022, the brand has been fully integrated into the EDELRID group, with the founders stepping back from active management. While the conceptualization, design, and prototyping of the shoes take place at EDELRID's headquarters in Isny im Allgäu, Germany, the mass production is primarily carried out in China to compete within the global market.
