Wusu Beer is a prominent Chinese beer brand that originated in 1986 in Wusu, Xinjiang, an area renowned for its high-quality hops and distinctive brewing climate. Often referred to as 'The King of Xinjiang Beer,' it has gained a legendary reputation across China for its full-bodied taste, higher-than-average alcohol content, and the iconic 620ml large-format bottle seen in the image.

Originally established as a local state-owned brewery, the brand underwent a significant transformation in the 2000s through international partnerships. In 2015, the Danish brewing giant Carlsberg acquired full 100% ownership of the Wusu Beer Group. Today, the brand is produced across several modern breweries in the Xinjiang region, including substantial facilities in Urumqi. Under Carlsberg's stewardship, Wusu has expanded from a regional favorite to a national success story, known for its 'Wusu Red' flagship variant and its playful nickname 'NSNM' (a reverse reading of Wusu in Latin script interpreted as local slang).
