Secure Trust Bank PLC is a well-established British retail and commercial bank headquartered in Solihull, West Midlands. Founded in 1952 as Secure Homes Limited, the institution has over 70 years of history in the UK financial sector. It originally focused on providing financial solutions during the post-war economic period before evolving into a more diverse banking group. Today, it operates primarily as a specialist lender and savings provider, offering services such as motor finance, retail finance through its V12 Retail Finance brand, and real estate finance.

Historically, the bank was a key subsidiary of the Arbuthnot Banking Group, which acquired a controlling stake in 1985. However, following an initial public offering in 2011 on the Alternative Investment Market (AIM) and a subsequent move to the Main Market of the London Stock Exchange in 2016, Arbuthnot gradually reduced its holding. By 2021, Arbuthnot Banking Group had completely exited its investment in the bank. Currently, Secure Trust Bank is an independent, publicly traded company (LSE: STB) with a diverse base of institutional shareholders, including prominent asset managers such as Artemis Investment Management, Threadneedle, and Invesco.
