Junker is a historic German brand with roots dating back to 1870, when Karl Junker and August Ruh founded Junker & Ruh, initially specializing in sewing machines before pivoting to stoves and kitchen technology. Over the decades, the brand became a staple in German households, particularly for its gas stoves. In the consumer appliance sector, Junker evolved into a specialist for built-in kitchen solutions.

Today, the Junker brand is part of the BSH Home Appliances Group (BSH Hausgeräte GmbH), which is a global leader in the home appliance industry. Specifically, Junker appliances are positioned as an exclusive partner for Nobilia kitchens, sold as integrated units. While the brand is quintessentially German in its engineering and heritage, manufacturing occurs across various European locations, primarily in Germany and Spain, depending on the specific appliance type such as ovens, hobs, or dishwashers.

Since 2015, the ultimate owner of BSH and consequently the Junker brand is the Bosch Group (Robert Bosch GmbH), following their acquisition of Siemens' stake in their former joint venture. This alignment ensures that Junker products benefit from the technological innovation and quality standards associated with one of the world's most prominent industrial companies.
