While the software is digitally distributed worldwide, its core development and data management originate from its German headquarters. The company has grown significantly through international acquisitions, most notably the UK-based ViewRanger in 2020 and Geo-Tracks in Switzerland in 2017. As of today, the brand remains independently owned and operated by its founder and the Outdooractive AG parent company, maintaining a strong focus on sustainable tourism and high-quality vector cartography.
