World Rally-Raid Championship (W2RC)

The World Rally-Raid Championship, commonly known as W2RC, is a premier global motorsport series co-sanctioned by the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA) and the Fédération Internationale de Motocyclisme (FIM). Launched in 2022, it unified the previous world cups for cross-country rallies into a single, high-stakes competition that includes iconic events like the Dakar Rally. The championship serves as the pinnacle of off-road endurance racing, featuring both automotive and motorcycle categories across diverse terrains including deserts and gravel tracks.

Management and commercial exploitation for the W2RC are handled by the Amaury Sport Organisation (ASO), a French company renowned for organizing major sporting events such as the Tour de France and the Dakar Rally. While the ASO acts as the sole promoter, the sporting regulations and technical oversight are maintained by the FIA (headquartered in France) and the FIM (headquartered in Switzerland). The series travels through multiple countries annually, with events typically held in locations such as Saudi Arabia, Abu Dhabi, Mexico, Argentina, and Morocco.
