Lindex is a prominent international fashion retailer with roots dating back to 1954 in Alingsås, Sweden, where it was founded by Ingemar Boman and Bengt Rosell. Originally established as a lingerie store named 'Fynd', it transitioned to the Lindex name shortly after and expanded its catalog to include womenswear, children's clothing, and cosmetics. The brand is recognized for its Scandinavian design principles, focusing on sustainability, inclusivity, and empowerment for women.

In terms of manufacturing, Lindex does not own any production facilities. Instead, it operates through a network of independent suppliers and maintains production offices in strategic locations including Bangladesh, China, Hong Kong, India, and Turkey. This allows the brand to manage quality and sustainability standards across diverse global markets. Ownership of the brand shifted in 2007 when it was acquired by the Finnish retail group Stockmann. As of March 2024, the parent company officially rebranded from Stockmann plc to Lindex Group plc to reflect the fashion chain's dominant role in the group’s financial success and strategic focus.
