The brand has undergone several ownership changes in recent years. In 2019, PJ1 was acquired by Blue Devil Products (part of The Starco Group). Later, PJ1 and Blue Devil were organized under the name API Automotive Products, Inc., which was subsequently acquired by Highline-Warren in a transaction involving Pritzker Private Capital.
