Artiach Chiquilín biscuits

Chiquilín is an iconic Spanish biscuit brand with a rich history dating back to 1927. Created by Gabriel Artiach Gárate of the Artiach family in Bilbao, the biscuit's name and image were inspired by the character "Chiquilín," the Spanish stage name for the famous child actor Jackie Coogan, known for his role in Charlie Chaplin's The Kid (1921). The unique recipe, featuring cereals, eggs, and honey, was originally marketed as a premium, energy-boosting "complete breakfast."

Over the decades, the brand has navigated numerous changes in ownership. After being family-owned for 101 years, the company was sold to Panrico in 2008. In late 2012, it was acquired by the Nutrexpa group. Following the split of Nutrexpa in 2015, Artiach and its associated brands (including Chiquilín, Filipinos, and Marbú) became part of Adam Foods.

Today, the manufacturing of Chiquilín biscuits is centered at the Artiach facility in Orozko, Spain, which has been the brand's production hub since the 1980s. The brand remains a staple in Spanish households and is exported to various international markets, maintaining its classic orange-red packaging and recognizable rectangular shape.
