Popz is a prominent international popcorn brand with a history rooted in the very invention of microwave popcorn. The brand was founded by Jim Watkins, an American entrepreneur who is credited with inventing the first microwave popcorn in 1971. After decades of experience in the industry, Watkins launched the Popz brand in 1999, specifically focusing on high-quality corn and innovative packaging solutions.

Initially, production was centered in Denmark; however, in 2011, the company relocated its manufacturing operations to a state-of-the-art facility in Debrecen, Hungary. This facility, operated by Popz Europe Kft., is now one of the largest and most modern popcorn production plants in Europe, supplying unpopped kernels, microwave popcorn, and ready-to-eat snacks to over 40 countries worldwide. The brand remains under the ultimate ownership of Popz Holding LLC, maintaining its legacy as a specialist in the popcorn sector while operating its primary production hub in Central Europe.
