O Reizinho is an artisanal distillery located in Gaula, Santa Cruz, on the island of Madeira, Portugal. The name 'O Reizinho' (The Little King) is a tribute to the founder's great-grandfather. Established originally in 1982 by Florentino Izildo Gouveia Ferreira as a family hobby, the distillery was officially registered for commercial production in 2013 and is currently managed by Pedro Ferreira and his family.
The product is a traditional 'Aguardente de Cana' (sugarcane brandy) or Rum da Madeira, which holds a Protected Geographical Indication (PGI). It is produced using fresh sugarcane juice from local varieties, distilled in traditional Portuguese copper pot stills (alambiques). This specific white rum is bottled at 50% ABV and is recognized for its artisanal quality, often winning international awards for its authentic representation of Madeiran terroir.
