Frigo Caramelo Salado ice cream

Frigo is a historic Spanish ice cream brand founded in 1927 in Barcelona by brothers Joan and Josep Rimblas. Originally known as Industrias Frigoríficas de la Alimentación, it pioneered industrial ice cream production in Spain. In 1973, the brand was acquired by the multinational Unilever, which integrated it into its global 'Heartbrand' network.

As of 2025-2026, Frigo is transitioning into the portfolio of The Magnum Ice Cream Company (TMICC), a standalone entity created following Unilever's strategic demerger of its ice cream division. While the brand remains a staple of the Spanish market, its products are manufactured in various facilities across Europe to serve regional demands, maintaining the iconic heart-shaped logo that links it with international counterparts like Wall's, Ola, and Streets.
