Elektra Bregenz is a historic Austrian home appliance brand with roots dating back to 1893, when its founder, Friedrich Wilhelm Schindler, showcased the world's first fully electrified kitchen at the World's Fair in Chicago. Traditionally, its products were manufactured in Austria, with main factories located in Bregenz and later Schwaz. However, local production ceased in 2003 following shifts in industrial ownership.
Today, the brand is part of the global portfolio of Arçelik, a major Turkish multinational. Manufacturing for modern Elektra Bregenz products is decentralized across Arçelik's extensive global network of over 28 production facilities located in countries such as Turkey, Italy, Romania, and China. Despite the move in production from its namesake city, the brand remains a staple in the Austrian market under the management of Beko Austria AG (formerly Beko Grundig Österreich AG).
