Svansø is a prominent Danish brand known for its high-quality condiments and specialty foods. Originally established in 1975 by Hanne and Peder Svansø, the company began as an importer of Mediterranean specialties like pasta and olive oil, a novelty in Denmark at the time. Over the decades, Svansø expanded significantly into new categories, including nuts, dressings, and jams.
The brand is currently owned by the Good Food Group A/S, which acquired Svansø in 2005. In 2019, the Good Food Group itself was acquired by the Danish private equity firm Maj Invest Equity, in partnership with the pension fund PKA. While the almonds themselves are an agricultural product sourced internationally, the final processing, quality control, and packaging for the Danish market typically take place at Good Food Group's manufacturing facilities in Denmark, such as those in Vejle or Nørre Åby.
