Skaga Eyewear

Skaga is a quintessentially Swedish eyewear brand with a rich heritage dating back to 1948. It was founded in Jönköping, Småland, by Lajoz Lázár, a manufacturer who established the brand in Sweden after his Hungarian factory was commandeered. For over 70 years, the brand operated as an independent Swedish entity, even becoming the only eyewear company granted the title of Royal Warrant Holder to the Swedish Royal Court.

Today, Skaga is a proprietary house brand of Marchon Eyewear, Inc., one of the world's largest manufacturers and distributors of quality eyewear and sunwear. While the brand maintains its 'Swedish by Nature' design philosophy—characterized by minimalistic, functional Scandinavian aesthetics—its manufacturing has shifted. Modern Skaga frames are primarily produced in Italy, combining Swedish design tradition with Italian craftsmanship. Marchon Eyewear itself is a subsidiary of VSP Vision, a major American vision care health insurance company.
