The brand's journey began in 1998 when Roman Wytrzens and his wife Iwona opened their first brick-and-mortar store, CRŸT SHOP, in an underground fallout shelter in Třinec, Czech Republic. Identifying a lack of specialized music merchandise in the market, they expanded into the digital space by launching the METALSHOP.CZ website in 2004.

Today, the brand operates globally with over 20 language-specific versions of its website, including metalshop.es for the Spanish market.
