MarXman is an innovative chalk marking tool designed to help tradespeople and DIY enthusiasts accurately mark drilling positions through deep fixing holes. The product was invented by Martin Chard, a building maintenance professional, who first conceived the idea in 2010 after struggling to mark drill holes on dark or uneven surfaces with a standard pencil. The brand gained significant national fame in 2016 when it appeared on the BBC television show Dragons' Den, where it successfully secured investment from Deborah Meaden.

Originally operating as MarXman Ltd, the company entered into a licensing agreement in 2019 with Charles Bentley & Son, a long-standing family-owned business based in Loughborough. This partnership allowed the brand to scale rapidly, expanding into markets in Europe, North America, and Australia. In January 2026, Charles Bentley & Son officially acquired MarXman Ltd, bringing the brand's manufacturing, sales, and design development entirely under its control. The product continues to be manufactured in Loughborough, Leicestershire, maintaining its status as a British-made tool known for its non-toxic, fluorescent green chalk pigment.
