Hop House 13 Lager

Hop House 13 is a premium double-hopped lager that belongs to the Guinness portfolio. It was developed at the Open Gate Brewery at St. James's Gate in Dublin, Ireland, as part of 'The Brewers Project'—an initiative designed to give Guinness brewers the creative freedom to experiment with new recipes. The beer is named after a historic 20th-century hop store building located on the St. James's Gate site, where hops are still stored to this day.

While Guinness is world-renowned for its dark stouts, Hop House 13 represents a contemporary expansion into the lager market. It is brewed using Guinness's proprietary yeast, Irish malted barley, and a specific blend of Australian (Galaxy and Topaz) and American (Mosaic) hops, which give it its distinctive citrus and stone fruit notes.

Since its launch in 2015, the brand has remained under the ownership of Diageo, the global beverage giant that owns Guinness. Although it was discontinued in Great Britain in 2021 to allow the company to focus on the core Guinness brand, it remains a staple in the Irish market and several international territories.
