Kas carbonated soft drink

Kas is a historic Spanish brand of carbonated soft drinks, particularly famous for its orange and lemon flavors. It was created in 1956 in Vitoria-Gasteiz, Spain, by the Knörr brothers (José María and Luis Knörr Elorza), who were descendants of a German brewer. The name 'Kas' was derived by adding the 'K' from the family name to 'As,' the name of their previous soda brand.

Following decades of success in the Spanish market, the brand was acquired by PepsiCo in 1992. Today, Kas remains a staple in Spain and is also available in France, Mexico, and the Dominican Republic. While PepsiCo uses the Mirinda brand globally for fruit-flavored sodas, it has maintained the Kas brand in these specific markets due to its strong regional heritage and consumer loyalty. Manufacturing is primarily centered in PepsiCo's Spanish production facilities, such as the plant in Etxabarri-Ibiña.
