Wilsonart is a globally recognized leader in the engineered surfaces industry, primarily known for its high-pressure laminate (HPL) products. Founded in 1956 by Ralph Wilson Sr. in Temple, Texas, the brand emerged from a small family operation into a massive international enterprise. The company's heritage is deeply rooted in central Texas, where its first manufacturing plant and corporate archives, including the historic Wilson House, are located.

Today, Wilsonart operates as a major global manufacturer with production facilities spread across North America, Europe, and Asia. In the United States, significant operations continue in Temple, Texas, alongside facilities in North Carolina and Mississippi. As of 2024 and moving into 2026, CD&R has solidified its position as the ultimate owner after purchasing the remaining ownership interests from ITW, with the company's management also holding minority stakes. Wilsonart continues to expand its portfolio through acquisitions of local distributors and complementary surfacing brands.
