Nevamar is a premium brand of high-pressure laminate (HPL) and decorative surfacing materials that has been a staple in the architecture and design industry for over 80 years. Founded in 1939 as the National Plastic Products Company in Baltimore, Maryland, the brand was a pioneer in developing plastic-based laminating technology for furniture and cabinetry. Over the decades, it became renowned for innovations like its proprietary Armored Protection (ARP) surface, which provides superior wear resistance and longevity.

In 2006, the brand was acquired by Panolam Industries International, Inc., a leader in the North American surfacing market. Under Panolam's ownership, Nevamar products continue to be manufactured primarily in the United States, with significant production facilities located in states such as Maine (Auburn) and South Carolina (Hampton). The brand is positioned toward the high-end commercial and residential sectors, offering an extensive palette of colors, textures, and specialized surfaces like chemical-resistant and fire-rated laminates.
