Berchtesgadener Land Topfen Bayerischer Speisequark

Berchtesgadener Land Topfen is a traditional Bavarian curd cheese (quark) produced by the Milchwerke Berchtesgadener Land Chiemgau eG, a cooperative dairy factory based in Piding, Germany. The product is known for its high quality, being made from milk sourced from alpine and mountain farms between the Watzmann and Zugspitze mountains.

Founded in 1927, the cooperative is entirely owned by its approximately 1,600 to 1,800 member farmers. This structure ensures that profits benefit the local milk producers directly. The dairy is a pioneer in organic and fair-trade standards, being one of the first in Germany to process Naturland and Demeter certified organic milk separately. The production process remains concentrated at their single site in Piding, Bavaria, ensuring regional integrity and strict quality control.
