Fuentealta Spring Water

Fuentealta is a prestigious brand of bottled spring water originating from the island of Tenerife in the Canary Islands, Spain. The brand's history began in 1975 under the management of Aguas de Vilaflor, S.A. (AVISA), founded by the entrepreneur Luis Zamorano Tais. The water is sourced from a natural spring located at an altitude of 1,400 to 1,500 meters in the municipality of Vilaflor, the highest village in the Canary Islands. This area sits within the protected natural reserve of the Corona Forestal, near the Teide National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site.

The water undergoes a slow, thirty-year natural filtration process through volcanic rock, starting as snow and rain on the peaks of Mt. Teide, which imparts a unique mineral composition and exceptional purity.

Today, Fuentealta continues to be a family-owned enterprise under the Grupo Compañía de las Islas Occidentales (Grupo CIO), a major Spanish holding company with over a century of history in various sectors, including hospitality and manufacturing. The brand is well-known for its commitment to sustainability, having been a pioneer in Canarias for incorporating recycled PET into its packaging.
