Reebok is a historic athletic brand that traces its roots back to 1895 in Bolton, England, when Joseph William Foster founded J.W. Foster and Sons. The brand 'Reebok' was officially launched in 1958 by his grandsons. For decades, it was a quintessentially British brand, famously featuring the Union Jack in its logo until the late 1980s.

In 2005, the German sportswear giant Adidas acquired Reebok in a multi-billion dollar deal to compete more effectively with Nike. However, after sixteen years under German ownership, Adidas sold the brand to the American-based Authentic Brands Group (ABG) in 2022.

Today, Reebok shoes are designed at their global headquarters in Boston, Massachusetts, but manufacturing is decentralized across a global network of over 700 independently owned factories. Most production takes place in Asia, specifically in Vietnam, China, Indonesia, and Thailand, though specialized work boots and high-tech lines are occasionally produced in US-based facilities.
