PC World was a prominent British retail chain specializing in personal computers and consumer electronics. Founded in 1991 by Jan Murray under Vision Technology Group Ltd, it revolutionized the UK tech market by introducing the 'megastore' format. The brand was acquired by Dixons Group (now Currys plc) in 1993, leading to massive expansion across the UK and Ireland.

Starting in 2008, the brand began a process of consolidation, with stores co-branding as 'Currys PC World' to offer a one-stop-shop for both household appliances and computing needs. In October 2021, as part of a major corporate restructuring, the 'PC World', 'Carphone Warehouse', and 'Dixons' brand names were officially retired. All physical and online operations were unified under the single 'Currys' brand to streamline the customer experience and modernize the company's retail identity. While the PC World brand name is no longer used in storefronts, its legacy continues as the computing division of Currys plc.
