WeTransfer is a globally recognized Dutch internet-based file transfer service, originally founded in 2009 in Amsterdam by Rinke Visser, Bas Beerens, and Ronald Hans (popularly known as Nalden). The brand quickly became iconic for its minimalist design and its "wallpaper" advertising model, which showcases art and photography while users upload or download large files. The service focuses on providing an effortless way for creative professionals and general users to share heavy assets without the friction of account creation.

In July 2024, WeTransfer was acquired by the Milan-based technology company Bending Spoons, marking a significant shift in its ultimate ownership to Italy. While its administrative headquarters remain in Amsterdam, the platform operates as a global Software-as-a-Service (SaaS). From a technical perspective, it does not have a physical 'manufacturing' location; instead, its infrastructure is primarily built on Amazon Web Services (AWS) using S3 storage, with data centers and points-of-presence located across Europe and the United States to ensure fast delivery and localized connectivity.
