Originally launched to support Huawei's expanding lineup of wearable devices like the Huawei Watch and Band series, the app serves as a centralized hub for monitoring physiological data such as heart rate, sleep patterns, and blood oxygen levels.

While the software is developed by Huawei Internet Service in China, its operations in Europe and other international markets are managed through specialized subsidiaries. For instance, Aspiegel SE, based in Ireland, acts as the provider for users in the European Economic Area to ensure compliance with local data protection regulations like GDPR.

Huawei has also established dedicated Health Labs in locations like Xi'an and Songshan Lake in China, as well as Helsinki, Finland, to conduct R&D and improve the biomechanical accuracy of the app's algorithms. The brand remains under the ultimate ownership of Huawei Investment & Holding Co., Ltd. in Shenzhen.
