Pesado is a boutique coffee hardware brand that has gained a global reputation for high-precision espresso tools. The brand was founded in 2015 by Andrea Dolegna in Melbourne, Australia. Dolegna, originally from Italy, combined his Italian espresso heritage with Australia's innovative third-wave coffee culture to create the brand's signature product: the Pesado 58.5 tamper. The name '58.5' refers to the precise diameter of the tamper, designed to maximize basket coverage and minimize channeling during extraction.

While the brand is deeply rooted in Australian design and engineering, its manufacturing process is international. Many of its core metal components are machined in Australia, particularly at their facilities on the Gold Coast. However, for specialized extraction components like the High Diffusion shower screens and precision filter baskets, Pesado partners with IMS Filtri in Italy to manufacture items to their exact technical specifications. Their decorative wooden handles are often crafted using sustainably sourced birch, further emphasizing the brand's commitment to high-quality materials and craftsmanship.
