Batchelors Beans is a highly iconic brand within the Irish market, frequently marketing itself as 'Ireland's Favourite' baked beans. The brand's history in Ireland dates back to 1935 when it was established in Dublin, independent of the British division that shares the same name. While the Batchelors name in the United Kingdom is famous for dried soups and noodles under the ownership of Premier Foods, the Irish canned goods business followed a different path of ownership and regional specialization.

Currently, Batchelors is a core part of the Valeo Foods Group portfolio. Valeo Foods was originally formed in 2010 through the merger of Batchelors and Origin Foods, specifically targeting the Irish ambient food market. The beans are primarily manufactured at a dedicated facility in Cabra, Dublin, ensuring the product remains deeply rooted in Irish industry. In 2021, the entire Valeo Foods Group was acquired by the American private equity firm Bain Capital, which now serves as the ultimate owner.

Because of the shared name with the UK brand (which focuses on different product types like Cup-a-Soup), the Irish identity of the canned beans is heavily emphasized in local branding and sports partnerships, such as being the official partner of the GAA.
