Dalva is a prestigious Port wine brand with deep roots in the Douro region of Portugal. The brand's heritage dates back to 1862 with the founding of Corrêa Ribeiro e Filhos, a company that was later transformed by Clemente da Silva. In 1933, after returning from Brazil, Clemente da Silva established C. da Silva and registered the brand 'Dalva' (a contraction of his surname) a year later. The brand quickly gained international acclaim for its high-quality Port wines, specifically its specialization in Colheitas and White Ports.
Today, Dalva is renowned globally for its extensive inventory of vintage ports, including rare 'Golden White' editions. The production process remains steeped in tradition, utilizing indigenous Portuguese grape varieties like Touriga Nacional and Tinta Roriz. The wines are aged in the historic cellars of Vila Nova de Gaia, where the humid Atlantic climate provides the perfect environment for slow maturation in oak barrels. The brand is currently managed under the original company C. da Silva (Vinhos) S.A., which continues to uphold the legacy of the Da Silva family while employing modern winemaking techniques.
