Vortex is a well-known consumer electronics and appliance brand primarily popular in the Romanian market. Established in the late 1990s, the brand was developed to offer affordable technological solutions to consumers. It is currently a private label brand associated with the retailer Altex, one of the largest electronics retailers in Romania.

While the brand is Romanian in origin and ownership, the manufacturing is outsourced to large Original Design Manufacturers (ODMs) to maintain price competitiveness. For air conditioning units and white goods, production typically takes place in China or Turkey, often in collaboration with major industrial groups like Vestel. This allows the brand to offer features similar to premium global brands at a more accessible price point.
