Vale do Rocim Signature is a red wine produced by Herdade do Rocim, a renowned winery located in the Vidigueira sub-region of Alentejo, Portugal. This specific edition is crafted from the Alicante Bouschet grape variety, known for its deep color and structured character. The 2024 vintage represents the estate's ongoing commitment to balancing traditional Portuguese viticulture with modern winemaking techniques, including the use of traditional stone vats (lagares) and French oak aging.
The brand was established in 2000 by the late José Ribeiro Vieira and is currently managed by his daughter, Catarina Vieira, alongside winemaker Pedro Ribeiro. The estate is part of the broader Movicortes group, a Portuguese family-owned business with interests in agricultural machinery and earth-moving equipment, which has successfully diversified into high-end winemaking. Herdade do Rocim has gained international acclaim for its innovative approach, particularly its revival of ancient clay amphora (talha) winemaking traditions.
