It was launched in 2022 as a Web3 evolution of the popular 'Sweatcoin' fitness app, which was originally founded in 2014-2015. The wallet allows users to manage, stake, and exchange $SWEAT tokens, which are earned through physical activity verified by the primary Sweatcoin tracking application.

The application is developed and managed by The Sweat Foundation Ltd, a dedicated entity focused on the governance and expansion of the Sweat Economy. While the original founders—Oleg Fomenko, Anton Derlyatka, and Egor Khmelev—launched the business from London, the foundation responsible for the crypto-economic aspects is legally headquartered in the British Virgin Islands. The app operates on the NEAR protocol, providing users with a bridge between traditional fitness tracking and the global cryptocurrency market.
