Omoda is a high-tech automotive brand launched in 2022 as a dedicated export marque by the Chinese state-owned manufacturer Chery Automobile. Designed to capture the global 'fashion elite' market, Omoda specializes in modern crossovers and SUVs, often positioned as a more premium and lifestyle-oriented alternative to the mainstream Chery lineup. The brand's name is a portmanteau of 'O' (representing Oxygen) and 'Moda' (meaning Modern).

While the brand's primary R&D and manufacturing hub is located in Wuhu, China, Omoda has rapidly expanded its industrial footprint to support local markets. In 2024, it established a significant manufacturing presence in Europe through a joint venture in Barcelona, Spain, and also utilizes assembly facilities in countries like Malaysia and Iran to meet regional demand. By 2026, the brand achieved a major milestone of over one million global vehicle sales, driven by its diverse portfolio of internal combustion, hybrid, and electric vehicles such as the Omoda 5 (C5) and the Omoda E5.
