Lindex clothing and cosmetics

Lindex was founded in 1954 in Alingsås, Sweden, originally as a lingerie store named Fynd. The brand quickly expanded into general women's fashion and children's clothing, becoming a staple of Nordic retail. In 2007, the company was acquired by the Finnish retail giant Stockmann plc, which significantly facilitated its international expansion into markets across Central Europe and the Middle East.

In early 2024, the parent company Stockmann plc officially changed its name to Lindex Group plc to reflect the strategic importance and dominance of the Lindex brand within its portfolio. As of 2026, the company continues to operate as an international multichannel retailer headquartered in Helsinki, Finland, while Lindex retains its own functional head office in Gothenburg, Sweden.

Lindex does not own its manufacturing facilities. Instead, it sources products from independent suppliers across a diverse global network. Major production hubs include Bangladesh, China, India, Turkey, and Hong Kong, with additional manufacturing in European countries such as Portugal, Poland, and Italy. The brand is recognized for its transparency, frequently publishing updated lists of its tier 1 and tier 2 factories to adhere to sustainability and ethical labor standards.
