Paul Mas is a prominent wine brand from the Languedoc region in Southern France. The heritage of the Mas family in viticulture dates back to 1892 when Auguste Mas acquired the first family vineyard plots near Pézenas. However, the modern brand, Domaines Paul Mas, was officially transformed and launched in 2000 by Jean-Claude Mas, named in honor of his father, Paul.
Produced primarily in the Hérault Valley of the Languedoc-Roussillon region, these wines are crafted using grapes from the family's extensive estates as well as contracted partner vineyards. The brand is known for its 'Luxe Rural' (Rural Luxury) philosophy, which aims to provide high-quality, expressive 'Old World' wines with a 'New World' attitude toward marketing and accessibility.
The company remains a family-owned enterprise led by Jean-Claude Mas. Over the last two decades, it has grown from a local winery into one of the largest privately-owned wine producers in France, distributing millions of bottles to over 80 countries worldwide.
