Bepanthol, also known as Bepanthen in many markets, is a world-renowned skincare brand with a history dating back to 1944. It was originally developed in Switzerland by the pharmaceutical company Roche (specifically within its consumer health division). The brand's signature ingredient is Pro-vitamin B5 (dexpanthenol), which is celebrated for its ability to support natural skin recovery and moisture retention.
In 2005, the German pharmaceutical giant Bayer acquired Roche's consumer health business, bringing Bepanthol/Bepanthen under its wings. Today, Bayer continues to own and manage the brand globally. Bepanthol SensiCalm is a specialized cortisone-free cream designed to relieve itching and redness caused by skin irritations such as eczema or atopic dermatitis, utilizing lamellar lipid technology to restore the skin's natural barrier. Production is predominantly centralized in Germany, where Bayer operates extensive manufacturing facilities for its consumer health portfolio.
