Sagrotan is a historic German brand that has been a household name for disinfection and hygiene since its foundation over 110 years ago. Originally developed in Germany, the brand became famous for its antiseptic and antibacterial properties. Today, Sagrotan is the German equivalent of the international brands Dettol (UK/Europe) and Lysol (North America).

The product is manufactured in various facilities across Europe and globally to supply the DACH region (Germany, Austria, Switzerland), with logistics and distribution for Germany managed out of Heidelberg. The brand was historically part of the Benckiser company, a German industrial giant, before it merged with the British firm Reckitt & Colman in 1999. Since then, it has been owned by the multinational corporation Reckitt (formerly Reckitt Benckiser), which is headquartered in the United Kingdom. Reckitt continues to manage the brand's scientific development and global marketing, positioning Sagrotan as a premium health and hygiene solution in the German market.
